Want to vote twice for Obama? Sure... go ahead!

By Dr. Bobby Eberle, GOPUSA: In a stunning undercover video, reporters posing as voters questioned Barack Obama's Organizing for America volunteers about being able to vote twice for Obama. Not once were the reporters told that voting twice was against the law and that if the volunteers helped them, they would be breaking the law too. Instead, there was just laughter at the idea of illegally voting twice for Obama. Check it out...

The video was produced by Project Veritas, an organization whose mission is "to investigate and expose corruption, dishonesty, self-dealing, waste, fraud, and other misconduct in both public and private institutions in order to achieve a more ethical and transparent society."

Here's a good summary of the video from Watchdog.org:
A staff person working on the president's re-election campaign helped an undercover journalist register to vote for Barack Obama in Florida despite the reporter's expressed intention to vote twice in the hotly contested presidential race, video reviewed by Watchdog.org shows.

The video, produced by independent journalist James O'Keefe, also shows Democratic activists helping register in New York an undercover reporter who says he's going to vote twice -- in Minnesota and in New York.

But the most arresting footage shows an Organizing for America staffer in the group's Houston office providing a video journalist with an application to request a Florida mail-in ballot, even though the journalist has made it clear she intends also to vote in Texas.
Just take a look at how easy it was to get information on voting in Florida when the reporter specifically stated that she was also going to vote in Texas:

Undercover reporters ask OFA (Organizing for America, President Obama's
Grassroots arm of his re-election campaign) staffers for advice on double voting.
In each circumstance the staffers are complicit in the illegal implications of voting twice.

As noted by New Jersey Assemblyman Declan O'Scanlon, the reporter should have been warned at the potential illegality of her actions.
"It's not a violation until the (second) vote is cast."

"The worker should have said, 'That's illegal, you can only vote in one place. Which is it going to be?'" O'Scanlon said. New Jersey was one of the states where O'Keefe filmed his investigation.
With less than a month to go, this is what America is dealing with Whether it's the media, volunteers, or Barack Obama and his campaign, there are groups who will stop at nothing to ensure Obama's reelection. We must all be watchful of what's going on and let other's know what Organizing for America is all about.

Don’t Let Your Vote Be Canceled by Fraud

Phyllis Schlafly
by Phyllis Schlafly, Eagle Forum: As we approach a major national election, we hear warnings about many kinds of vote fraud and possible recounts that might delay confirmation of who are the victors. We also hear from deniers who insist that vote fraud is a figment of the imagination of Republicans. It isn’t; vote fraud is real.

Many instances of registration fraud schemes were carried out by ACORN, and some members were even tried and convicted. Although ACORN announced it was closing its doors, it reemerged under new names.

It’s common knowledge that there are more registered voters in Philadelphia than there are people living in Philadelphia, because dead and moved-away voters have not been stricken from the list. Similar accusations have been made in a dozen other states.

In Minnesota, we were entertained for weeks with news of the recounting of votes in the 2008 Minnesota election for U.S. Senate. Al Franken was declared the winner by 312 votes out of three million cast.

After all was said and done, Minnesota discovered that 289 convicted felons had voted illegally in Hennepin County, 52 had voted illegally in Ramsey County, and many others voted illegally who were dead or who voted multiple times. That is reason enough for the U.S. Senate to use its constitutional power in Article I, Section 5 to unseat Franken.

In a shocking case this fall, a good-looking Arkansas state legislator, Rep. Hudson Hallum, pled guilty to election fraud by bribing voters to vote their absentee ballots for him. He had applied for and distributed the absentee ballots, and the voters then gave the ballots to him in unsealed envelopes. If they were marked for Hallum’s opponent, they were pitched.

The wide use of absentee and mail-in ballots has destroyed our traditional American secret ballot. This is a major loss of an important American right and an open door to election fraud.

It’s important to know that it’s much easier to prevent vote fraud beforehand than it is to overturn an election suspected of being plagued with fraud. Can individual citizens do something to prevent vote fraud, or can we count on the government to protect us from the cheaters?

There are things you can do right now, before the election. You can volunteer to be a poll watcher, sometimes called poll observers or challengers or checkers, and usually at least one watcher is allowed to be close enough to the election officials to be able to compare the voter’s signature with the verification record.

State laws vary about the rights and duties of poll watchers and how many can be in a polling place. You can get some helpful advice and good instructions by contacting truethevote.org.

Most state legislatures will go into session early next year, and now is the time they are planning the bills they want to pass. At the top of their list should be a photo ID law if they are not among the 17 states that already have such a law. There is no question about the constitutionality of voter ID because the Supreme Court upheld the Indiana voter ID law in 2008.

The left squeals in pain about photo ID laws, claiming they are a conspiracy of Republicans to suppress vote turnout, especially of minority voters. There’s no evidence to support that claim and, in fact, voter turnout has actually increased in Indiana and Georgia where photo ID has been implemented.

A citizen who lacks photo ID can prove identity with other documents. These include a state-issued ID, credit card, utility bill, bank statement, student ID, a government check or paycheck showing the voter’s name and address, birth certificate, or a passport.

Minorities are actually among those most eager to implement photo ID. Former Atlanta Mayor Andrew Young said, “You cannot be part of the mainstream of American life today without a photo ID.” The sponsor of Rhode Island’s photo ID law was Harold Metts, who is the only African-American in the state senate.

Just think of all the many occasions when we all must show photo ID: when stopped by the police for a traffic violation, to make a credit card purchase, to check in for any medical treatment, to check into a hotel room, or to board an airplane. Isn’t it just as important to assure that only American citizens are allowed to vote, and to prevent non-citizens from canceling out your vote, and to prevent crooks from voting twice or voting in the name of a dead person who is still registered?

When your vote is nullified by illegal votes, you are cheated just as much as if you were denied the right to vote.

They Didn’t Riot Over This Video

Bob Morrison and Ken Blackwell
Ken Blackwell and Bob Morrison, Contributing Authors: After nearly a month of cringing and getting lost in their own contradictions, the Obama administration is finally clinging to an elliptical mention by the president of “acts of terror” that he claims won’t deter us from doing whatever we are supposed to do in the Mideast. What was it we were supposed to be doing over there?

Oh, supporting democracy, of course. But democracy in a country where “freedom fighters” roar into town shooting their rifles in the air is going to be hard to achieve. All those celebratory bullets have a nasty way of coming down again. And they can hit local voters as they are lining up to cast their ballots.

Consider the ever-so-discreet caption for a photo of one of our purple-fingered frenzied friends. Against a lurid background of the U.S. Consulate in flames in Benghazi, we see a trim young man in jeans and tee-shirt. He’s holding his rifle menacingly. And Reuters labels him a “protester.” Indeed. He was surely protesting something.

It must have been that nasty U.S.-made video that few even here have seen. As if reading from scripted talking points, speakers from the U.S. Embassy in Cairo to the podium of the UN General Assembly, from the side of Amb. Stevens’s casket to the White House Press Room, have has been blaming that “offensive” video for the riots, the torchings, the embassy takeovers, and, finally, for the murder of Amb. Stevens and his three American colleagues.

It was an offensive video. But it’s interesting to consider the video the street protestors didn’t riot over. More than a year ago, the Israeli satirical group, Latma, produced this video.

The Israelis lampoon the Mullahs of Tehran and the flaccid response of this administration to the existential threat of Iran becoming a nuclear power. There were no recorded riots anywhere in what President Obama obligingly calls “the Muslim world” over this Israeli video.

Why not? Watch the video and note the caricature of the mullah. Note his smirking and mugging for the camera. Note, too, the burka-clad Iranian damsels and their come-hither batting of their eyes. Shouldn’t the Arab Street have rioted over that one?

They didn’t. And the reason they didn’t is because they knew it would do no good. The Israelis don’t quail. They don’t quiver. They don’t quake. And they never cringe.

That’s why they have the Obama administration . Contrast the Obama administration’s official spokespersons—Jay Carney and Victoria Nuland—with this defiant Israeli posture, as evidenced by the Latma video.

Day after day, Carney and Nuland come before the world press and grovel. There is virtually nothing that happens on the Arab Street that makes either of these capital cringers angry. For such a relentlessly pro-abortion administration, it is positively weird to see how often their spokespeople go into a fetal position.

We recall that President Obama went out to Osawatomie, Kansas, last year to channel the spirit of Theodore Roosevelt. Mr. Obama celebrated TR’s embrace of national health care in his famous New Nationalism speech of 100 years before. Many of us admirers of the first Roosevelt think that run-up to his Bull Moose candidacy in 1912 was the greatest error of TR’s life.

Still, Mr, Obama might have been inspired instead by Theodore Roosevelt’s reaction to the seizure of an American Consul in North Africa by Muslim kidnapers. It was 1904 and, like Obama, TR was running for re-election. The hostage-takers, led by a desert bandit called the Raisuli, demanded ransom for the captured American Consul, Ion Perdicaris.

President Roosevelt’s response was terse. “We want Perdicaris alive or the Raisuli dead.”

We got Perdicaris alive. And afterward, TR even won the Nobel Peace Prize. Those were the days when Peace through Strength still echoed throughout the world.

Mr. Obama claimed Amb. Stevens as a friend. Yet as the ambassador’s broken body was being flown home, the president did not convene an emergency meeting of his National Security Council. Instead, he flew to Las Vegas for a fund-raiser. We might say his actions were biblical: “Woe to you, O land, when your king is a child,
and your princes feast in the morning!” (Ecclesiastes 10:16)

President Obama’s Other Libya Scandal

Bob Morrison and Ken Blackwell
Ken Blackwell and Bob Morrison, Contributing Authors: As presidential debaters clash over the meaning of a Rose Garden general reference to “acts of terror,” and whether that phrase was applied to the murder of our ambassador to Libya and three of his colleagues, and with a debate moderator throwing a “life line” to one of the candidates, it’s interesting to note something else said in the secure environs of the White House complex the bright morning after that night of flame and death in Benghazi.

It’s almost like Poe’s short story, The Purloined Letter. The critical evidence is in plain sight. The day after the murders of the Americans, President Obama promised to cooperate with our presumed friends in the new Libyan regime in Tripoli. Here’s what he said:The United States condemns in the strongest terms this outrageous and shocking attack. We're working with the government of Libya to secure our diplomats… And make no mistake, we will work with the Libyan government to bring to justice the killers who attacked our people. ~ Rose Garden Statement, September 12, 2012The “make no mistake” phrase has been poll-tested, no doubt, to suggest the speaker is most resolute, most firm. In this context, however, the phrase is as vacuous as Bill Clinton’s definition of “is” is, or Joe Biden’s definition of “we.”

The candid world has already seen just how cooperative this new Libyan regime is. The New York Times inadvertently showed us the spots of this leopard in its story on the reported death of Abdel Basset Ali al-Megrahi back in May.Tripoli’s new leaders refused to return him. But, under international pressure, they signaled a willingness to get to the bottom of the Lockerbie case, still unresolved after nearly a quarter of a century of struggle among nations and investigations that spanned the globe, touching on Iranians, Syrians, Palestinians and Libyans. The NY Times then reported how Tripoli’s new rulers had declined to help the U.S. bring closure to the investigation into the bombing of PanAm 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, in 1988. Recall, these are rulers whom President Obama helped to put in power. For them, he ordered NATO airstrikes against the dictatorship of Col. Muammar Khaddafi. For them, he has requested another $250 million in foreign aid.

Suddenly, the man who was imprisoned in Scotland, but who later infamously was released from jail and flown home to a rapturous reception in Tripoli, has turned up dead. How convenient.

It is this same Libyan gang that President Obama says he will work with to get to the bottom of the murders in Benghazi. Don’t hold your breath. We’ve been waiting 24 years for the “international community” to bring to justice the killers of 270 passengers of the doomed jet liner and bystanders on the ground in Lockerbie. With the supposed death of Megrahi, we will probably count PanAm 103 as a cold case and not pursue it further.

Libya is a burning issue. The case of the PanAm jet that fell in flames from the skies cries out for justice. Why should we give a penny in aid to a so-called government in Tripoli that stonewalled our efforts to bring Megrahi to justice?

That same Tripoli government was duty-bound under international law to protect our diplomats and State Department employees. We saw on September 11th — of all days — how indifferent this Libyan bunch was to the safety of our American personnel.
“Working with the government of Libya to secure our diplomats” is one of the weakest excuses in history. We already know how much this Libyan regime cares about American lives.

They do care, of course, about another $250 million in American aid. Not a penny of that money should be given unconditionally to people who have already shown their indifference to human lives—ours and others.

The final presidential debate is scheduled for next week. Let us see whether CBS’ Bob Schieffer will raise this burning Libyan issue with the candidates.

Obama Demands Tax Hikes - Today's Washington Post reports that Barack Obama is threatening to veto legislation preventing Taxmageddon unless congressional Republicans agree to even more tax hikes.

In our recent special report on Obamacare, we noted how Barack Obama has broken his promise not to raises taxes on the middle class. The Supreme Court declared that Obamacare was legal only because it was a tax. Five new Obamacare tax increases take effect next year. And Obama is just getting started.

This is important, folks, because it is more proof of Obama's tax-and-spend socialism, and one more example of how Obama has repeatedly misled the American people. During Tuesday's debate, Obama blamed Republicans, saying, "Governor Romney's allies in Congress have held the [middle class] hostage because they want tax breaks for the top 2 percent."

According to the Washington Post it's Barack Obama who is holding the middle class hostage with his veto threat! Obama would rather see taxes go up on middle class families than allow small business owners and entrepreneurs to keep and invest their own money.

What Taxmageddon Means To You - On January 1, 2013, Taxmageddon -- the expiration of the Bush tax cuts -- hits America. According to a study from the Tax Policy Center, nearly 90% of households will see their taxes go up. Here's what it means to you:
  • Families will be hit hard as the per child tax credit is slashed from $1,000 to $500.
  • The average middle class family "will see an almost $2,000 tax hike."
  • Even low-income earners will pay more as the 10% tax rate goes up to 15%.
  • More than $500 billion will be sucked out of the economy by higher taxes next year, likely triggering another recession.
When it comes to keeping taxes low, whom do you trust more: Barack Obama or Mitt Romney?

Obama Spends $1 Trillion On Welfare - What exactly is Barack Obama going to do with more of your money? Pay down the debt? No. Under Obama annual deficits have doubled and the national debt has increased 50%.

Today brought the startling news that government spending on welfare programs has increased 32% since Obama was elected, and for the first time ever topped $1 trillion in a single year. That figure does not include spending on Social Security or Medicare.

My friends, it wasn't that long ago -- 1987 -- when $1 trillion funded the entire federal government. Today, $1 trillion barely pays for Obama's welfare spending.

Benghazi-gate Won't Go Away - Barack Obama's attempts to deny the facts about the attack on our consulate in Benghazi, Libya, won't make the controversy go away. Hours before Tuesday's presidential debate, Reuters published a report that undermines claims by Obama and Biden that they were unaware of the security situation in Libya. Consider this excerpt:
"In the months before the deadly attack in Benghazi, Libya, U.S. and allied intelligence agencies warned the White House and State Department repeatedly that the region was becoming an increasingly dangerous vortex for jihadist groups loosely linked or sympathetic to al Qaeda…

"So brazen was the Islamist presence in the Benghazi area that militants convened what they billed as the 'First Annual Conference of Supporters of Shariah (Islamic law)' in the city in early June, promoting the event on Islamist websites. … A research report prepared for a Pentagon counter-terrorism unit in August said the Benghazi conference brought together representatives of at least 15 Islamist militias. Among the paper's conclusions: these groups 'probably make up the bulk of al Qaeda's network in Libya.'"
Did you get that, folks? Al Qaeda militants were holding conferences in broad daylight, even advertising them! And this administration has the audacity to claim it had no idea there was any danger in Benghazi!

Radical Islam Still A Threat - A 21 year-old Bangladeshi man was arrested yesterday after he attempted to bomb the Federal Reserve building in Manhattan. He came to the U.S. in January on a student visa.

Does this mean we have a "Bangladeshi problem"? Of course not. The young man is a devoted follower of Osama bin Laden and a radical Islamist. Bin Laden may be dead, but the threat from radical Islam is still very alive.

Welfare Now the Largest Federal Expense

Republican Study Committee: A report from the independent Congressional Research Service reveals that welfare is now the single largest federal expense – greater than Social Security, Medicare, and national defense. Combined state & federal spending on 83 different welfare programs topped $1 trillion in FY 2011.

After half a century of waging a War on Poverty through this ever-expanding list of government programs, 46.2 million Americans still live in poverty according to the latest Census data.

Spending so much with so little effect is not fair to the poor or to taxpayers. The successful welfare reforms of 1996 – which dealt with just 1 of the 83 programs – should provide a model for making our efforts to aid the needy more effective and more affordable.

Members of the Republican Study Committee have proposed several solutions to reform “the rest” of welfare.
  • The State Health Flexibility Act deals with Medicaid & CHIP, which provide often substandard care at high cost. Using the 1996 model, the legislation provides states maximum flexibility to innovate and tailor to the needs of their unique populations while shifting federal funding from an entitlement formula to a stable block grant set at current spending levels.
  • The State Nutrition Assistance Flexibility Act deals with Food Stamps and 5 other food welfare programs in the Farm Bill. Also based on the 1996 reforms, it combines these 6 programs into a single block grant at 2008-levels, with maximum flexibility for states to improve their food welfare efforts. Programs under this block grant will be subject to strong work requirements for able-bodied adults.
  • The Welfare Reform Act of 2011 deals with the big picture. To better inform Americans about current programs, it requires the president to annually disclose total welfare expenditures as a separate budget category. Once unemployment falls below 6.5%, the legislation sets aggregate spending for this category at pre-recession levels, adjusted for inflation.
The RSC also operates an Anti-Poverty Initiative, an effort to find better ways of fighting poverty through the power of free enterprise and strong civic relationships.

Gas Prices Are Up Because of Obama's Offshore Ban

Phil Kerpen, Contributing Author: In the Hofstra presidential debate, President Obama said: "when I took office, the price of gasoline was $1.80. Why is that? Because the economy was on the verge of collapse." Wrong. Prices collapsed because we signaled to the world that we were finally moving forward with developing America's massive offshore oil and gas resources — and they shot back up when Obama reimposed the offshore ban.

Obama's ridiculous story that the doubling of gasoline prices under his watch is a result of economic recovery doesn't fit the facts. According the National Bureau of Economic Research, responsible for officially designating when recessions start, the recession began in December of 2007. The average price for a gallon of gasoline that month, according the Energy Information Administration, was $3.02. The price rose for the next seven months with the country in recession. The price peaked in July of 2008 at $4.06 a gallon, more than half a year into recession, exacerbating economic pain and spurring the national protest movement that gave us "Drill Here, Drill Now" and "Drill, Baby, Drill."

That July 2008 peak coincided with a critical policy change. On July 14, 2008, President Bush lifted the executive branch moratorium on offshore drilling that his father had put in place. That indicated a consolidation of support for offshore drilling that stalled the run-up in prices at the pump. In the next two months, the average price dropped more than thirty cents to $3.70.

Grassroots activists pressed even harder, demanding Congress lift the remaining barrier to offshore drilling, the appropriations rider that had been in place since 1981. The pressure on Obama was so intense that he even reversed his opposition, claiming on August 1, 2008, that he would support offshore drilling under some circumstances.

Meanwhile, activists ratcheted up pressure on Congress and the White House, urging Congress to let the ban expire. Facing organized opposition in Congress, a Bush veto threat, and overwhelming public opinion in favor of drilling, Nancy Pelosi caved. After 27 years, the ban on offshore drilling was officially lifted on October 1, 2008.

With the moratorium lifted, markets anticipated future production of the estimated 19.1 billion barrels of oil (equal to 30 years of imports from Saudi Arabia) in the Outer Continental Shelf. Market psychology abruptly reversed, and the price at the pump dropped sharply.

It reached a low of $1.79 in January 2009, the month of Obama's inauguration. That's no coincidence.

The first order of business for Ken Salazar, Obama's new secretary of the Interior, was to stop the pending opening of the former moratorium waters — supposedly temporarily. That announcement was made on February 10, 2009. By April, prices were back over two dollars. By June, when the recession officially ended, the price was $2.63 — up more than 80 cents from when Obama took office while the economy was still in recession.

Prices spiked up again starting in May of 2010, which is when Obama and Salazar imposed an illegal moratorium (literally; Salazar was held in contempt of court because the moratorium was based on a politically corrupted report) in the Gulf of Mexico as an overreaction to the BP spill.

By December of 2010, Obama had fully and permanently reimposed the old moratorium that Bush and Congress had lifted in 2008. So now we're back where we were in summer of 2008, with prices around four dollars and vast offshore American energy resources locked up by politicians. The facts are clear — the pain at the pump is not, as Obama suggested, a result of a supposedly strong economy. It is a result of his own disastrous policy.

Wrong Way Down On a One-Way-Street - Part 4

From the heart of the The Ozarks, the following letter to the editor is by aka "Buck Angler." Buck is a mainstream, voting, middle class, God-fearing citizen concerned about America. This letter is from his reflections titled: Wrong Way Down On a One-Way-Street. Buck  will be sharing in the ARRA News Service more of his reflections via a series of open letters.

By Buck Angler: My continued personal observations!

WRONG WAY: "ObamaCare - you should care!"
Regarding Obama-care, you might consider a couple of unsettling situations involving Medicare. The first experience involved a close friend switching from his wife’s employment insurance to Medicare Part B. This was to have taken place the month after she retired. Apparently, the paper work had been completed and processed.

This individual had very few medical visits so he didn’t discover until about five months later that Part B had not been assigned to him when he began receiving denied medical bills. It wasn’t until six months later after contacting more than a dozen different representatives throughout that duration that the issue was straightened out. He figured out what was probably the glitch after about the fourth contact. Do you think they would listen to my friend’s reasoning or follow up on it….NO!

He actually talked to about three or four reps that really cared or did what they said they would do; the rest were either, indifferent, judgmental, or incompetent. One of them insinuated that my friend was a liar and another one hung up on him when he specifically called to talk to a supervisor. I think that an average 5th grader could have solved the problem if they had privy to Medicare’s documents on this person.

The second situation is still ongoing. It involves a claim that my wife and I first mailed in December 2011, and re-mailed twice more — January and early June 2012 by certified mail. Eventually, eight months after the first submission, a disposition on the claim was received. The claim was denied because supposedly it was past the time limit to file the claim. It certainly was by the time they processed it!!! Two of the three reps we talked with in the long process seemed somewhat helpful; the last one contradicted the previous reps and insinuated an appeal would also be denied because the health care provider was not listed as a Medicare provider.

The previous rep knew the situation and told us an appeal would likely be honored. Personally, my most critical health issue is from dealing with Medicare reps! I’m taking a short break to deal with the disillusionment and chaos before I attempt an appeal. Do you think that this might be a prelude to Obama-care? How long do you think a private insurance company would last with this kind of service? Unfortunately, you don’t have options if the Federal Government is sole dispenser of the health care decisions. Incidentally, “ObamaCare” will be managed by several thousand IRS agents—isn’t that reassuring! RESEARCH, RELATE, AND THINK

WRONG WAY: Oh! Woe is me!
I’m really strung out listening to Democrats, including Bill Clinton at the DNC convention, making the excuse that Obama’s four years in the White House are the toughest any president has faced since President Roosevelt and the Great Depression. If anyone had tough situations to deal with, it was President George W. Bush. No president since we became a nation had to face a more difficult task than responding to and dealing with the 911 attack on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon.

The crisis was complicated even more by the lack of cooperation by members of Congress and the U.N. regarding action against the terrorists who masterminded the attacks. Since the British burned the Capitol and the attack by Japan in 1941, what other president has had to deal with a "major attack" on the U.S. soil? The situation was so bad that you only saw an occasional jet stream in our sky for months. And, it put our economy in a tail-spin!

If the main-stream media scrutinized President Obama like they did President Bush, he probably would have thrown in the towel after his first two years in office. President Bush was isolated and persecuted ruthlessly by the liberal media. On top of these two points, he also had to deal with an all-Democrat Congress for his last two years in office. By the way; did that Congress get any of the media flack for the “Bush slumping economy?” I’m not rating President Bush. I'm just comparing his trials and tribulations to Obama’s. It’s like comparing confrontation with a hungry lion to confronting an angry house-cat.

Republicans in the national limelight face extreme criticism, distortions, half-truths by the liberal “main-stream” media who also withhold favorable news on events that support conservatism. For instance, I would stake my life on George Bush taking out Osama Bin Laden had the opportunity manifested itself. He would have loved to have called that “shot”! Maybe you didn’t like his politics but there is one thing that you can’t deny: George W. Bush is a patriot!

Do you think the mainstream media would dare make such an assertion public — not if it would give him equal or more favorable status than Obama or other liberal politicians! When I say mainstream “liberal media” whom am I specifically referencing? NBC and ABC and their affiliates lead the pack, with CNN and some other cable networks probably relatively close behind. Recently, CBS seems to have been showing some objectivity and fairness. I consider FOX NEWS to be leaning toward conservatism. But they are also more objective, present opposite points-of-view, and are comprehensive (not hiding news that would affect public opinion) in presenting important and critical news events. RESEARCH, RELATE, AND THINK

Thomas Peterffy : grew up in socialist Hungary. Despite the fact that he could not speak English when he immigrated to the United States in 1956, Thomas fulfilled the American dream. With hard work and dedication, he started a business that today employs thousands of people. In the 1970s, Thomas bought a seat on the American Stock Exchange. He played a key role in developing the electronic trading of securities and is the founder of Interactive Brokers, an online discount brokerage firm with offices all over the world.

Now, in just one minute, Peterffy shares his concern for America. As he identifies, he grew up in and knows what happens in a Socialist county.  He now sees what is happening in the United States.  One of the points he mades was, " Yes, in Socialist countries , the rich will be poorer, but the poor  will also be poorer.

Avoiding Taxmageddon Is Not a Tax Cut

Taxes Soaring Past Highest Level Ever
Taxes are projected to increase rapidly under different policy scenarios. If the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts expire and more middle-income Americans are required to pay the alternative minimum tax (AMT), taxes will reach unprecedented levels. The tax burden will climb even if those tax breaks are extended. President Obama's budget, which cuts some taxes and raises others, increases the overall tax burden.

Michael Sandoval, Heritage Investigate: On January 1, 2013 nearly $500 billion in tax hikes will go into effect.

In other words, “Taxmageddon.”

Separating truth from fiction in politics, however, is not as clear, as The Heritage Foundation’s Curtis Dubay and Romina Boccia point out in last week’s analysis of the vice presidential debate:
About 120,000 high-income families would get an additional $500 billion tax cut over 10 years.

Biden: “120,000 families by continuing that tax cut will get an additional $500 billion in tax relief in the next 10 years.”

False. This is not a tax cut. It is the absence of a tax hike. Not raising taxes on high earners, who actually happen to be job creators, is not the same as cutting their taxes. President Obama and Vice President Biden have a troubling habit of arguing their case in this way. It is troubling because to take that stand is to presuppose that the money we all earn is actually the government’s in the first place. Hopefully they don’t really believe that to be the case.
Only when the government presupposes–as Dubay and Boccia write–that the money earned by those 120,000 families rightfully belongs to the government and not the families themselves does avoiding a tax hike become a tax cut.

From Dubay’s July 2012 issue brief on Taxmageddon:
Taxmageddon is causing widespread uncertainty that is slowing the economy right now,[6] and, if it hits on January 1, 2013, the blow it would deliver to the already staggering economy would be severe.

Congress should not delay stopping Taxmageddon by engaging in unnecessary attempts to pay for phantom revenue losses. Congress should evaluate stopping Taxmageddon against a current policy baseline, which would clearly show that stopping Taxmageddon is not a tax cut and does not raise the deficit and that therefore Congress does not need to pay for stopping it. The sooner it realizes this and votes to stop Taxmageddon, the better.
Here’s a look at Taxmageddon’s tax hikes, and how Taxmageddon would affect you:

Summing Up The Second Presidential Debate

Last night the second of three Presidential Debate was held at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. Below are summary comments by various people.

Kerby Anderson, Point Of View, included in his summary the following comments: "The format and the questions might have helped the president, but it didn’t help him very much. He certainly did better in the second debate than the first debate. But he didn’t offer many specifics. Since his State-of-the-Union speech this year, we have heard him talk about wanting to hire 100,000 more teachers. He talked about wanted to “invest” in solar, wind, and bio-fuels. Of course, he didn’t say how to pay for many of his spending ideas other than to talk about taxing the rich. Most of the time, President Obama spent his debate time attacking Governor Romney.

"Governor Romney explained to the voters last night that “if you were to elect President Obama, you know what you’re going to get. You’re going to get a repeat of the last four years. We just can’t afford four more years like the last four years.”

"I should also say something about the moderator. Candy Crowley made it clear before the debate that she wasn’t merely going to call on people to ask questions. Sometimes she was going to insert herself into the discussion. She did exactly that.

"Some pointed out that President Obama was given more time than Governor Romney. Others pointed out that Candy Crowley interrupted Governor Romney 28 times and only interrupted President Obama 9 times. All of that is true, but she will probably be remembered most for her decision to (as one commentator put it) put her “thumb on the scales” in favor of President Obama."

Gary Bauer, Campaign For Working Families, included in his comments: "As the polls indicate, Governor Romney scored well on the economy. Time and again Romney brought the debate back to the idea that Obama is trying to make you afraid of Romney's plans because Obama has no plans, and that the next four years will be same as last four -- full of broken promises, bigger government and higher taxes. Governor Romney gave one of his best answers on the economy in response to a question from Michael Jones, a black man who is disappointed with Barack Obama's performance. Here's an excerpt of Gov. Romney's response to Mr. Jones: "I think you know that these last four years haven't been as good as the president just described…I can tell you that if you were to elect President Obama, you know what you're going to get. You're going to get a repeat of the last four years. We just can't afford four more years like the last four years.

"He said that by now we'd have unemployment at 5.4 percent. The difference between where it is and 5.4 percent is 9 million Americans without work. … This is a president who has not been able to do what he said he'd do. He said that he'd cut in half the deficit. He hasn't done that either. In fact, he doubled it. …

"The middle class is getting crushed under the policies of a president who has not understood what it takes to get the economy working again. He keeps saying, 'Look, I've created 5 million jobs.' That's after losing 5 million jobs. The entire record is such that the unemployment has not been reduced in this country. …How about the growth of the economy? It's growing more slowly this year than last year, and more slowly last year than the year before. …

"You might say, 'Well, you got an example of one that worked better?' Yeah, in the Reagan recession where unemployment hit 10.8 percent… Ronald Reagan's recovery created twice as many jobs as this president's recovery. …

"The president has tried, but his policies haven't worked. He's great as a speaker and describing his plans and his vision. That's wonderful, except we have a record to look at. … That's what this election is about. It's about who can get the middle class in this country a bright and prosperous future and assure our kids the kind of hope and optimism they deserve."
"Governor Romney clearly won the first debate. This one appears to be a draw with a number of missed opportunities. But I think both events will end up winners for Mitt Romney. Here's why.

"Governor Romney has been subjected to a $700 million smear campaign meant to convince Americans that Mitt Romney is an extremist, out-of-touch and mean man who doesn't care about us. But in two debates they have seen someone who is compassionate and capable -- in a word: presidential.

"These two 90-minute events essentially neutralized Obama's year-long negative ad barrage. And they have given "permission" to millions of Americans to vote for Mitt Romney."

Dick Morris, political adviser to Bill Clinton and Political strategist, Fox News analyst, said: "Romney Won The Second Debate!  By scoring big on the economy, gas prices, and Libya, Romney continued his victorious string of debate wins. He looked more presidential than Obama did and showed himself to be an articulate, capable, attractive, compassionate leader with sound ideas.

"Obama came over as boorish and Biden-esque. He did not learn from his Vice President's mistakes. When a president gets into a bar room brawl, he loses his dignity and his aura, key assets for an incumbent. Romney was polite but firm. Obama seemed quarrelsome, frustrated, nasty, and cranky.

"But the key reason for the Romney win was substantive:1. Romney made very clear the case against Obama's economic record and Obama's rebuttal about 5 million jobs was pathetic.
2. Romney injected the China issue, big time, and tapped into a strong public sentiment on the issue.
3. Romney made the effective case that Obama is anti-oil, coal, and gas and that this has doubled gas prices.
4. Romney was very effective in differentiating himself from Bush-43 and in establishing that, unlike the GOP of the past, he was for small businesses not big businesses
5. Romney rebutted the attacks on him over Chinese investments.
6. Romney explained his tax plan well and to everyone's satisfaction.
7. Obama erred in trying to make us believe that he always felt Libya was a terror attack. We all heard him blame the movie."
Rick Manning, Americans For Limited Government, included in his wrap-up: "In terms of the debate itself, the one thing that stood out was that Mitt Romney was, once again, the alpha male on the stage.  He did not back down when confronted by outright falsehoods by Obama and challenged him mano y mano on the president’s lie that energy production was increasing due to his policies.

"On matters of substance, Romney continually hammered Obama’s failed record including his broken promise to introduce and pass comprehensive immigration reform in his first year as president, along with the tragic increase in the number of people on food stamps, America’s dramatic drop in per capita income, and Obama’s throwing his body in front of the building of the Keystone XL pipeline costing thousands of jobs.

"Additionally, once again, Romney successfully fended off attacks on his concrete proposals for America’s future, while Obama was allowed to float by on rhetoric that neither offered a detailed vision for his priorities or how he would actually put America back to work.

"When the debate focused upon the real lives of Americans, Romney dominated Obama by giving specific answers that contrast with the reality of the past four years of failed Obama policies."

Are You Better Off? Obama Economy Still Not Working For Families

by A.F. Branco
Every week, there are new stories about how the Obama economy is just not working for families across the United States.  Over a year ago, a CNN poll noted that 80% said "The Economy Is In Bad Shape."  And today we still note below that the economy is still in bad shape.  It has not improved under the leadership of President Obama.  And, Obama's "few bumps along the way" have turned into cracks and now open pits in which not only individuals but families are trapped.  More news on this follows.

The Wall Street Journal reports today, Americans’ everyday costs inched up for the second straight month in September . . . . The consumer-price index, which measures what people pay for everything from bread to dental care, rose a seasonally adjusted 0.6% in September from a month earlier, the Labor Department said Tuesday. That matched the rise in August, which marked a three-year high, reflecting a surge in gasoline costs related to refinery disruptions and Mideast turmoil. . . . The cost of medical care rose 4.1% in September from a year earlier, a faster pace than the 3% increase recorded in 2011, according to the Labor Department. . . . Most Americans not receiving government benefits aren’t seeing sufficient income boosts to keep up with rising costs. Tuesday’s data also showed that for the second consecutive month, consumer prices rose more quickly than wages, with workers’ inflation-adjusted hourly earnings falling by 0.3% in September. That leaves U.S. consumers with less money to spend after taxes and bills, a development that could crimp their spending in coming months, draining a key source of growth in the nation’s economy.”

Meanwhile, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, One in four Pennsylvania households do not make enough money to meet the family’s basic needs, according to a study released on Tuesday that takes into account costs on a geographic level. . . . The report, sponsored by PathWays PA, a Philadelphia area organization that provides services for women, children and families, found that nearly 26 percent of Pennsylvania households have inadequate incomes that fall below a self-sufficiency standard. . . . The study, which focuses on data from 2010, showed that the percentage of households under the self-sufficiency standard increased five percentage points since 2007.”

Last Month, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell said, “For two long years, the President and Democrats in Congress laid the foundation for the economy we’re in. They were so sure it would work that the President said if it didn’t he wouldn’t deserve reelection. And it didn’t. So for the last two years, Republicans in Congress have done everything we could to convince the President to change course. He didn’t. He doubled down on the same failed policies. And when he wasn’t able to get them through Congress, he blamed Republicans for the consequences. Well, blaming us for the results of his policies is almost as ridiculous as concluding that the vision behind them will be any more successful over the next four years than it has been over the last four.”

Obama Gave Us A Phone - Can We Really Afford 4 More Years of Obama?

Bill Smith, Editor: The Tea Party Victory Fund has just released a new campaign video starring the Cleveland area woman who exclaimed that we should “keep Obama in president” because “he gave us a phone”.  The ARRA News Service has written about the original video previously. This vocal declaration by a protester outside of a Romney rally now resulted in her being the center point of campaign ad playing in the State of Ohio. The ad is shown below.

Ken Blackwell is the Chairman for the Tea Party Victory Fund where he works to promote conservative issues and candidates. As many readers already know, Ken Blackwell is also a popular contributor to the ARRA News Service. I called Ken today with a few questions. One of which is highlighted below:
Smith: "Why is the TEA Party Victory Fund was running this ad?"

Blackwell: "We are running this ad to draw a clear bright line between the philosophies, policies, and worldview of the two presidential candidates. This is indeed "a choice" election. Ohioans and other Americans need to make a decision on whether we will empower individuals and families or grow the dependency on the welfare state."
The Tea Party Victory Fund ad shows the following in sequence:

[Foreground]
Have Barack Obama’s policies empowered or enslaved Americans?

[Background]
Everybody in Cleveland, [low] minority, got Obama phone. Keep Obama in president, you know. He gave us a phone, he gonna do more

The interviewer then asks, “He gave you a phone. How’d he give you a phone?”

You sign up! If you on food stamps, you on social security, you got low income, …

[Foreground]
The Obama record: 1 in 7 Americans on food stamps

[Background]
Video repeats

[Foreground]
The Obama record:  $16 Trillion in debt

The Obama record:  Millions of jobs lost

Can we afford four more years of Barack Obama?

Editorial Note (Aug 2, 2018): Video link has been deleted on YouTube!

Mr. Ken Blackwell’s public service includes terms as mayor of Cincinnati, an undersecretary at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Human Rights Commission. In 1994, he became the first African-American elected to a statewide executive office in Ohio when he was elected treasurer of state. He subsequently was elected to two terms as Secretary of State.

He is also involved nationally in "a whole lot more." This guy loves this Country. And, I appreciate Ken's friendship and his being a willing contributor to the ARRA News Service.

Read more about Ken Blackwell on TeaPartyVictoryFund.com. The masthead summarized it all and may encourage you to be involved: "Tea Party Victory Fund is here to support people who are committed to constitutional principles of smaller government, lower taxes and more freedom. It's not enough to just be a Republican -- you've got to be a conservative first."

Another Obama Tax Suppoted "Green Energy" Company Touted Files For Bankruptcy

Debt Per Individual: $51,366 - Editor's Rant: Each of my grandchildren currently owe  through no fault of their own, and their share of the debt continues to increases daily.  This is unfathomable.  Why have the American people allowed this to happen?  Why has it happened on President Obama's watch?  What is the reasonable response for voters on election day?  Why would America voters re-elect anyone who is inept at fixing the American economy and evidences a willful disdain towards America surviving as the top economic power in the world?  Why would any voter reject a candidate, albeit conservative,  who has a proven record that he is able to put forth solutions and field a team that will save our economy.  This is not a political issue.  This is an American Issue. And, no president who fails this dismally should be re-elected to a second term.

Reuters writes today, “U.S. consumer prices rose in September as the cost of gasoline surged, posing a threat to consumers' spending power although inflation pressures look unlikely to derail the Federal Reserve's ultra-easy policy path. . . . Most of the increase in consumer prices was due to a sharp rise in gasoline prices, which jumped 7 percent in September after climbing 9 percent the prior month. Higher costs at the pump force many American consumers to cut back on other spending.”

And yet the Obama administration continues to block energy projects like the Keystone XL pipeline, which would bring oil from booming oil fields in North Dakota and Canada to refineries in Texas, creating tens of thousands of American jobs in the process.

Instead, President Obama has insisted on funding “green energy” projects with taxpayer money that were hastily approved and poorly considered, such as Solyndra. Today, another such company has filed for bankruptcy. According to Bloomberg News, “A123 Systems Inc, a maker of rechargeable lithium-ion batteries for electric cars, filed for bankruptcy after failing to make a debt payment that was due yesterday. . . . ‘The company may not have sufficient cash to fund operations and may need to seek the protections provided under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code,’ A123 said.”

Bloomberg notes, “A123, which received a $249.1 million federal grant in 2009 to build a U.S. factory, needed a financial lifeline after struggling with costs from a recall of batteries supplied to Fisker, the plug-in hybrid luxury carmaker. A123 announced in August that it was working on a deal with Wanxiang Group Corp., China’s largest auto-parts maker, for financing in exchange for a majority ownership stake. . . . President Barack Obama called A123 Chief Executive Officer David Vieau and then-Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm during a September 2010 event celebrating the opening of the plant in Livonia, Michigan, that the company received the U.S. grant to help build.  ‘This is about the birth of an entire new industry in America -- an industry that’s going to be central to the next generation of cars,’ Obama said in the phone call, according to a transcript provided by the White House.”

The reality has fallen far short of the president’s promises, as Bloomberg points out, “Electric-vehicle sales since 2011 totaled fewer than 50,000 through September, just 5 percent of Obama’s target to have 1 million such vehicles on U.S. roads by 2015. . . . A123 has posted at least 14 straight quarterly losses. Its shares have fallen 85 percent this year to 24 cents at yesterday’s close in New York and traded at 16 cents at 8:29 a.m. before the start of regular trading.”

In addition, Obama continues his War On Coal which affect the economy and jobs in numerous states, like Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvanian, Kentucky and more. Phil Kerpen, American Commitment, identified, "The American people rejected cap-and-trade (President Obama’s plan to make electricity prices “necessarily skyrocket” and “bankrupt coal”) in one of the biggest landslide elections in history in 2010. The day after that election, Obama said: “Cap and trade was just one way of skinning the cat; it was not the only way. It was a means, not an end.  Note, the House has voted 233 to 175 to pass H.R. 3409 to stop Obama’s War on Coal. The Senate has refused to act.  The War on Coal could be the defining issue of the presidential and Senate elections. Please help us spread the truth about Obama's promises to make electricity prices skyrocket to bankrupt coal."

While Kerpen and other seek to educate and mobilizing citizens in key states on this issue, the issue could be solved at the polls on November 6th. Obama must not be re-elected if our economy is to recover, if jobs are to be created, if your taxes and prices of goods and serves are to be reduced.

How can anyone consider President Obama's four year record worthy of re-election? Just consider yesterday's "Economic Snap Shot:"
Current Deficit: $75.02 trillion
Current National Debt: $16.16 trillion
Debt Per Avg  Household: $141,446
Debt Per Individual: $51,366
Unemployment Rate: 7.8%

As Bankrupting America notes, Washington is Still Digging. Washington is spending and spending. We’re now more than $16 trillion in debt, larger than the nation’s economy. You don’t have to be an economist to see how this is unsustainable and how it’s not creating jobs. Take a look at their new 30 second web video below and see how far in the hole Washington has put us.
-------------
P.S.: Except for those few members of Congress who have returned to Washington, D.C. to make inquiries of the Executive Branch, and to hold pro forma sessions, Congress remains in recess until Tuesday, November 13th.
